Redondo Beach-based Emily Baum is somewhat of a modern day 'Pied Piper,' teaching piano and a general love of music to young people and people young at heart.

Affectionately know as Miss Emily, she uses music lessons to give her youngest students the confidence to face the challenges of childhood with joy and happiness. She also offers music therapy for children with special needs, in addition to music classes at the Redondo Beach Library (third Monday of the month) and at other locations.

"Kids need music and with school budget cuts it's my pleasure to educate the children of our community and to see adults returning to their early music education is inspiring," she said, "Everyone has something on their bucket list. Playing piano is one they can practice everyday."
